Andre Renee Johnson acquired his passion for the arts at a very young age. Andre began his acting career at West wood Elementary School at the age of five, which led to leading roles in many of the school’s productions. After seeing the works of fellow playwright Tyler Perry, Andre was inspired to write his first play at the age of 8, “My Family Comes Home.” In 2012, Andre recreated his stage play, “My Family Comes Home” and produced it at his local church; where he donated all proceeds to his local church. City Councilman Mr. Eric Dunn recognized Andre at Prince of Peace M.B. Church for “giving back to the community.” In 2016 Andre wrote his second stage play “A Family Torn Apart” which debuted at the Evergreen Theater for 3 shows. Andre was accepted into “The Soulsville Charter School” for excellent academic performance and is now a graduate, as of May 2018. Andre Johnson has been recognized as the local cool kid for Channel News 24 and youngest playwright and director to debut a show at the Evergreen. Andre is currently a freshman in college at Southwest TN Community College and majoring in Digital Communication and Performing Arts.
